Pen & Ink over watercolor.
I got to the studio early this morning, two hours before the model was to be there, to get all set up. I moved the chair around and worked with the lighting. I place a lamp carefully on the subject and at that time I was the subject. I used my iphone to check my lighting on my face in order to save time when the model got there. I laid out my pencils, erasers etc. He came in and said he had to cancel. Yes, I was greatly disappointed, but I totally understood. I sat there for a minute or two in my disappointment. I put everything back in place to work on the commission and did what I could on that. After that, I finished the pen and ink wash I started the other day (photo above). I left and went shopping for Thanksgiving Dinner. Below are photos of the pen and ink in process.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
