My supplies are in! So the preparation begins for my next commission work. I'm going to be working on a large 24" x 18" AlumaComp Unprimed Archival Aluminum Painting Panel. I've used them for plein air painting and loved them. I never working on one this large but I did some research. I talked with the winning Artist at the 2Rivers Paint Out this year and he mentioned that he loved them. They are archival and strong, they won't mold or mildew like a canvas and wood panels can.
I've put two coats of gesso on the panel and one more to go. Then let the painting begin.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
