I'm wanting to enter a competition and I didn't know what to draw or paint, etc. So I thought, I'll try something new and different, like my granddaughter in acrylic. Then I thought, NO, stick with what you know. So I'm going to do a watercolor of the tree drawing I did. By drawing it, I already know the values and that's what's hard about watercolor. You have to work light to dark and save your whites. So I drew out the trees again, and then I had to clean up all the stuff I had out to do the other drawings. Finally, I got out the watercolor supplies. I haven't painted in watercolors in a while now.
Tomorrow I will go in, check the drawing one more time before I start masking out the whites. I only have until the 7th to make the deadline.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
