I was fortunate to be juried into the GCVAA National Juried Exhibit but now I have to get ready for it. We have to deliver our paintings Sat., the 8th of April.
Today, I framed my painting. I ordered my frames two weeks ago and pick them up last week. I got the old mat cutter out (Logan 750), mat boards (double matted), backing board, and Plexiglas, I check my watercolor painting for buckles and warped places. And yes they are there, I have to spray the back of the painting with water and press it with a few books to get it as flat as I can. I measure the mat board and check it again and again before I cut it. (expensive stuff) Cut the mats, tape the painting in place, put everything to together. Add D rings, screw into place and wire! We are ready for Saturday. I'll add all the labels tomorrow, and pack it up.
That's now I spent my day!!
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
