While in Monteagle, TN last week, I finished two Plein Air Paintings. I have two more that still need a little work. We had a wonderful time painting. We were there Sunday afternoon through Thursday morning. These paintings are both done in watercolor.
Painting, Painting and more Painting!
The other artists were so incredibly talented!!! They worked in oils, acrylics, pastels, collage, watercolors and an installation (not plein air)! It was amazing, and I loved it. I got five paintings done and two started. The largest paintings I did were 12” x 16” but some of the artist worked on much larger canvas. The critiques were so helpful and I didn’t get my ego damaged. The food was good, the company was fantastic and Monteagle, TN is so beautiful. It did rain one day, and I worked on a color pencil inside one of the studios. Wednesday it was a little cold (56) and the wind was awful and cold. I would get into my paint, and it would dry before I could get it to the paper. I think the weather is what really challenges you. I can’t wait to go again.
I rode with an Artist who has Plein Air Painted in 16 countries. WOW! She was such an inspiration to me!!
Here are some quick pics I took of three of the paintings!
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
