Last night was"Members Night" at the Customs House Museum. My work is in a small gallery there through July 26th. Paul Harmon's show, "Inner voices" is in the main gallery. There was a huge crowd in that gallery and the food was wonderful. BUT, very few members got back my way. I did see two of my professors from APSU. One, my all time favorite art professor, gave me a thumbs up as he left. Made my day!!! Heck, made my artistic life. I did have two young ladies come in and they loved my painting "Clockwise Green" and they understood what I was trying to say in that painting - so again, it made my day, Heck, my artistic life! I had my picture taken with them which thrilled me to death. I had a lot of very nice comments and I loved every one. It did get a little slow at times and I caught myself looking at the floor, what can I say? I'm no Paul Harmon, which by the way, I loved his work. I loved the way he uses line!! Beautiful line work and his colors are wonderful. I'm not sure about the subject matter but I was just looking at the way he handled line and color last night!! I'll be going back to really study his work later.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
