![]() Since I broke my ankle, I haven't kept up with my blog. I tried to use my I phone to post and that worked only at times. I tried the Ipad and again it worked only at times. I go into surgery this Thursday and I surely hope all goes well. I broke the ankle Dec. 16th and because of the holidays things did not work to my advantage. I went Monday for Surgery and the insurance company had approved it etc. But, last minuted they wouldn't pay. It has been such a mess. Today I shipped the last commission piece to GA. and I hope they love it. I thought it turned out well. I was only able to paint 2 to 4 hours a day because I had to kept my leg up to keep the swelling down. But, I had to get my leg up because it was the only way it didn't hurt. The painting above is one of the commission pieces I did as a Christmas gift. I will post the other one once it is delivered, it's a large watercolor (18" x 24"). Happy Creative New Year everyone!

Worked on the commissioned piece today for about five hours and the foot was so swollen I had to go lay down and get the foot up. If this had been oil or acrylic I would have had it finished by now'. Water colors just take some time. The hubby is not thrilled but I'm working at the house on the commissioned piece. I had my first good day since the ankle got broken yesterday. . Most of the day today was decent but more pain than yesterday. I guess I stayed up a little too long yesterday. I put a layer of background colors and masked out the trees today. I'm ready to start the water in the morning . My client has agreed to take delivery on the 3 of Jan. thanks goodness he was understanding about the down time with the ankle! My husband picked the commissioned piece I was working on before I broke my ankle. I sat up a few times today and the foot does hurt a little. Tomorrow I'll see what I can do here on the dinning room table I drew today! I can't get around so the Hubby went to the studio and picked up some supplies! I really hate having a broken ankle! I'm going to try to get the piece I was working on from the studio to the house. Maybe I can work on the dinning room table. I broke my ankle in two places Sunday night. I have to wait until after Christmas to have the surgery done to fix it. Christmas Holidays- the doctors are off all next week. So Dec 30th I can get it repaired!!!! I'm on my back with my foot in the air. Michelangelo might can paint laying on his back but I can't!! ![]() I went in today and working on the commission piece. It was so quite in town, no one was there. The Christmas tree and lights were all lite. It rained and the clouds made it really dark out, by 4:00 it was dusk.. The lights , the rain were beautifully quite. I steps out to get some pictures and one other person was walking by. Of course in a small town like Erin, I knew him, he kidded me about taking pictures of our little down town Erin. It was a nice day. I added bows today to the wreaths. ![]() Last Friday was the Houston County Arts and Crafts Holiday Show, the weather was predicted to be really bad. They didn't call off the show but we had to close early because of ice, only a few people turned out. We were invited back today. I did much better last Friday as far as sales. Very few people same today, but I did win a country ham. A few people I spoke to had no idea I had my studio on the square in the alley. I think it was worth my time and effort. The photo above shows the first three steps of the commission piece I'm working on. I have a lot to do in so little time. The client said it was be alright if I couldn't finish it but I really want to get it done by the dead line. ![]() I worked most all day today on the last holiday commission. I taught this morning and then painting, masking on the new piece. I did clean while waiting for the paint to dry so I could mask again. Tomorrow I'll be at the Houston County Crafts and Arts Holiday show. Last Friday the weather was bad and we closed early so we will try it again tomorrow. ![]() I managed to get the new commission piece drawn out and masked out for the background. While the mask was drying, I decided to decorate the studio for Christmas. It's beginning to look a little like Christmas. I hung a wreath outside my door, I wonder if it will be there in the morning? I know the people in this wonderful little town are good honest people but kids will be kids . I wish I had taken a picture to share but I didn't . The painting is a watercolor I did a few months ago! I need to get a good photograph of it so I can put it on FAA, maybe after the holidays. |
