I will be selling small artworks this year at the H.C. Christmas Arts & Crafts Show. Small Pen&Inks some with color washes, 9" x 12" framed in different size frames. I also have my Erin Christmas Cards to sell along with hand painted ornaments and some mini canvases. I hope to see you there Friday, Dec.2nd 9:00am - 5:00pm at the Erin City Hall. They will also be giving away country hams all day long.
I finished up the ornaments today, packed up the car and drove to Clarksville to set up for the Bazaar that starts Dec. 1st at the DAC (Downtown Artist Co-op on Franklin St. I went after closing, thinking I would be the only one there setting up but I had a lots of company. The Opening for the Christmas Bazaar is Thursday, Dec. 1 at 5 -8pm. Join us, it's part of the Clarksville Art Walk.
I painted these little guys today. I have eight to go. I plan to back them with ribbon for ornaments. I have to set up at the DAC (Downtown Artist Co-op) tomorrow because the Art Walk is Thursday and the Opening of our Holiday Bazaar. It's going to be a GREAT, I'm sure. The Bazaar will be Dec. 1- 24th. Opening Reception starts at 5:00, refreshments! I also will have them at the Houston County Christmas show Friday, Dec. 2, It starts at 9am and goes until 4 at City Hall.
I went in this morning to pull my shift at the DAC (Downtown Artist Co-op). I just sat behind the desk and watched these young ladies work. They are the window designers (DAC members doing their jobs) and they do a beautiful job. Our Annual Holiday Bazaar starts Thursday during the Art Walk 5-8pm. The Artists at the DAC are wonderful to work with and to be around them.
I just sent this year's Christmas Card to the printer, in hopes they can get it printed in two weeks. The Erin's Christmas Craft show is Friday, Dec. 2nd. I need them for the show."Erin is a Wee bit of Ireland in Tennessee" That's the inspiration!
I drew mini illustrations on the mat of my sister's marriage certificate. Each illustration was a big event in their lives together, it was my sister's idea. She asked me to do it for their 50th Anniversary. It was a fun project!
I should have been in the studio working today but when my husband said, "You want to go to Land Between the Lakes with me today", I went. I thought we would be gone a few hours but we were gone until after dark. We took photos and then went geocaching. (the recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object by means of GPS coordinates posted on a website.) We found two, and turned back on the last one. It was deep in the woods and it is hunting season. I'll be at the chamber tomorrow working. I have to get back to the studio. I have work to do.
The theme for the 2017 Irish Day is "Erin Tennessee is the place for me...on Irish Day 2017". Our theme winner is Izzie Lamberth. I did the art work for the t- shirts and they will be printed by Yards N Yarns!! Irish Day is the third week in March. We have a lot of fun the whole week, please come by.
Some of you know that I took off the month of Oct. to get things done around the house. Well, I didn't get everything done that I had planned but I managed a few. I volunteer at the Chamber on Wednesdays and other artists join me there. We have had five artists coming on a regular bases. Today it was just Hilda and I like old times. We didn't get much work done, we talked the entire time and then had lunch, good times. After lunch I went to the studio to try to clean up the studio. I had to unpack all that artwork I picked up last Friday. Then to rehang the paintings and drawings. I have officially ran out of wall space. Now, what do I do with these extra paintings? They are leaning again the wall.
I would like to share how I keep track of where my paintings are at a visual glance. The Title blocks I use for shows are printed on clear address labels and adhered to white foam core. I have two printed, one with a price and one without. One goes with the painting and the other goes on my cabinets in the work area. The show or gallery has a post it note at the top of the door. I just place the extra Title Block under the correct show. So I know where every painting is at any given time. This works very well for me. I've have a hard time keeping up with them in the computer. I hope this might be of help to some of you.
I loved my old studio. One year ago today I was making plans to move from the old studio to a new space. The building hadn't need used in a while. It had the north light, it was larger and a better location. So I decided to go for it. I sometimes miss the old studio but I love my new studio too. Life is good, I'm very blesses.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
