I went in this morning to pull my shift at the DAC (Downtown Artist Co-op).  I just sat behind the desk and watched these young ladies work.  They are the window designers (DAC members doing their jobs) and they do a beautiful job.  Our Annual Holiday Bazaar starts Thursday during the Art Walk 5-8pm.  The Artists at the DAC are wonderful to work with and to be around them.

I drew mini illustrations on the mat of my sister's marriage certificate.  Each illustration was a big event in their lives together, it was my sister's idea. She asked me to do it for their 50th Anniversary.  It was a fun project!

I played hookie today! Went Geocaching!

I should have been in the studio working today but when my husband said, "You want to go to Land Between the Lakes with me today", I went.  I thought we would be gone a few hours but we were gone until after dark.  We took photos and then went geocaching. (the recreational activity of hunting for and finding a hidden object by means of GPS coordinates posted on a website.) We found two, and turned back on the last one.  It was deep in the woods and it is hunting season.  I'll be at the chamber tomorrow working.  I have to get back to the studio. I have work to do.

1st Day Back from Vacation!

Some of you know that I took off the month of Oct. to get things done around the house.  Well, I didn't get everything done that I had planned but I managed a few. I volunteer at the Chamber on Wednesdays and other artists join me there. We have had five artists coming on a regular bases.  Today it was just Hilda and I like old times.  We didn't get much work done, we talked the entire time and then had lunch, good times.  After lunch I went to the studio to try to clean up the studio.  I had to unpack all that artwork I picked up last Friday.  Then to rehang the paintings and drawings.  I have officially ran out of wall space.  Now, what do I do with these extra paintings?  They are leaning again the wall.

I would like to share how I keep track of where my paintings are at a visual glance.  The Title blocks I use for shows are printed on clear address labels and adhered to white foam core. I have two printed, one with a price and one without. One goes with the painting and the other goes on my cabinets in the work area. The show or gallery has a post it note at the top of the door. I just place the extra Title Block under the correct show. So I know where every painting is at any given time. This works very well for me. I've have a hard time keeping up with them in the computer.  I hope this might be of help to some of you.

One Year ago I Decided to Move!

I loved my old studio.  One year ago today I was making  plans to move from the old studio to a new space.  The building hadn't need used in a while. It had the north light, it was larger and a better location. So I decided to go for it.  I sometimes miss the old studio but I love my new studio too.  Life is good, I'm very blesses.
