After a long break, I hope to be back at the studio tomorrow.
I decided to commit to renting a studio at Tannery Row last March to get myself motivated to do my art. I’ve painting more than ever but not what my inner self wants to paint. I’ve done a lot of landscapes when I want to do painting with feeling, something that touches someone and makes them think.
But I’m enjoying the studio, Tannery Row and the other great artist
there. They are inspirational to me.
You know you want to paint a certain subject, right. But how do
you decide on the right medium? I love flowers done in watercolors. People can be captured well in all media. Acrylics are fast to dry, but can be messy. Oils are slow to dry, and you can go back in and rework areas with ease. Watercolors are easy on the clean-up, but they take so much planning. I just need to come to a decision and go forward.
If you're in the Buford, GA area, stop by to see 12 of my works on display in the gallery. I'm very excited to have my work on exhibit through Aug. 15
The Pen & Ink workshop went well, it was very enjoyable. It's
always fun seeing the different ways people work. Same instructions, but the
drawings are so different. One was whimsical and one with clean straight lines.
Eight totally diverse drawings. I love it. For photos of the workshop go to:
Tannery Row Artist Colony web site.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
