Evidently! One part of writing a " BLOG" is it's like a journal. I can go back and see what I was doing on certain dates. Since I finished the commission and delivered it Tuesday, I've been thinking "what's next". To my surprise, I'm thinking of all kinds of good stuff to do! This made me curious, is this how every July's usually manifest itself to me. Well, again, Evidently.
All the images above were created in July over the last 7 years. These were all my creations and not commissions. There were a few commissions done in July but I didn't share them. Seven pieces I just had to try my hand at. One piece is from a Plein Air Outing with Friends. Another was a book illustration I volunteered for. The other one is a pen & ink which I always enjoy doing. It looks as if July really is a very good time of the year for me.
Happy Summer Everyone!
Acrylic, 16" x 20" Gallery Wrap Canvas 1.5"
This one took forever to do.
I started this one May 21st, two months ago. But I did have surgery and it took a little time to recover.
I kept going in too dark and having to go back in to lighten it. It's a woodland scene so it is shady. Add to this, acrylic dry darker than when you apply it. I would put the background in and simply didn't like it, so the next day I would do it over. I am very happy with it now.
When I delivered it to my client, she was thrilled. Her husband came in, one look and he recognized it as their woods and creek. I was thrilled then! Success! This was a gift (surprise) for him.
You can now purchase my artwork on a facemask! Over a hundred to choose from. I just ordered a few for myself. Here is the link if you would like to order a few. FUN!
I thought I would share a few flower paintings. I don't paint flower usually and I don't know why, I love flowers.
Sad but true, I've been working on a commission forever! I've redone the sky, the trees and the water at least four times each. But, I can see the light between the trees, it should only take one of two days now.
I have the Clarksville Montgomery County calendar coming up and I have nothing.
The DAC Regional Juried Exhibit is next month and I have nothing I'm feeling really good about to enter.
I am feeling much better now after they removed the parathyroid. So good, I like to take goof off days. I love life! MY life, its great to be an artist and retired!
Be safe and stay healthy!
All I did was shorten the tree a bit and lighten the trunk. Since it's spring, I emphasized the dead grass from the summer and I added small patch of buttercups in the background. This painting is on display through August at the DAC Gallery downtown Clarksville.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
