One of my former students is now a professional artist. Lauren Alyssa Howard has always been talented, creative and cute as she can be. Here is a link to a write up about her latest show at Auburn University.

I've been very ill with a cough and I can't breathe. I went to the doctors yesterday and I received two breathing treatments and they did help. I'm better today so I expect to be even better tomorrow.
The painting pictured above is of the greenway in Clarksville. I painting's reign is almost over, it was chosen for the month of June. I can't believe July is almost here. I traveled to Nashville to get to Warehouse 521 this morning. I came through the doors ten minutes late so I missed the warm up exercises. I felt behind and playing catch-up the whole time. It was great today and I loved every minute. Our model was wonderful even if she did fall out once. She is alright, it just happens sometimes. This is the third time I've seen it happen.
but not in the studio or plein air. I painted the sunroom today! My wonderful daughter in law said she would help me and as always, I took advantage of her. Yes, I'm always getting her to help me out and sometimes she just feels sorry for my flowers and pulls the weeds. I love that girl! Thanks Stacey - love you.
This watercolor is coming along at a very slow pace. Today my other artists came to paint and they got a lot accomplished. One artist (Judy) painted one 8" x 10" watercolor and the other (Hilda) painted two 5" x 7" watercolors. All three turned out beautiful!! I got a vase done - sad and slow. Tomorrow is another day and I totally enjoyed the day with friends..
My day didn't go as planned. I did get down to pick up my artwork from the last show but I didn't go to Franklin. A combination of events, I just decided to wait until it was cooler. It was HOT today in Middle Tennessee.
I had several pen and inks in the show we took down today in Clarksville. I came back to the studio and had to find places for them on the studio walls. It wasn't easy. Most of the pen and inks were framed and sent out to shows and have never hung in the studio. Even though I sold two of them, I still had some left to hang up. But I finished in time to still get a little work done on the watercolor I started last week. It was a very good day and I'm looking forward to painting with friend in the studio tomorrow. Yes, it's Monday. First I had a Dr. appointment so no breakfast. Yes, they took my blood, not happy. Then to Clarksville and we ate lunch, happy! I picked up some artwork and did some shopping. I worked in the basement, when I got home, emptying boxes from when we moved three years ago. Then I worked in the garden on weed control, oh yeah sure!! Then I finally got around to doing something ART related. I down loaded the photos I took Friday at our friends farm. I got some good stuff to work with. Tomorrow, I have to go pick up more artwork from the show at the Smith Trahern Mansion, again in Clarksville. A group of us will leave from there to go to Franklin, TN to get some photos . We have a show coming up later in the year with the Williamson Cty theme. It will be fun, I hope.
I went out yesterday and did some plein air drawing. Well, I did some sketches outdoors. My Husband and I went to our friends farm with our RTV and road all over the place. I would find a scene I liked and I would photograph it first and then sketch it out. We had a wonderful time and I love their farm, so beautiful. The photos above are of plein air painting I did two years ago at a plein air boot camp with lori Putnam. The first two are sold. All are done in Acrylic and 8" x 10".
I painted with friends today at the Studio, Hilda and Judy. We all were working in watercolors. Judy created a few sketches with a watercolor wash. Hilda and I worked on some of the papers we did in the Workshop with Kathleen Conover. I'll be teaching drawing tomorrow in the Studio and tomorrow night, I'll be at APSU drawing with a group there. Today was nice and relaxed and tomorrow will be busy. Life is good.
