Picture9" x 6" Acrylic
This is another painting inspired by the Clarksville Greenway.  It's small, I wish I had done it larger. Below are photos of the painting in progress. When I started the painting the leaves and values were confusing.  I did a pen and ink to help me understand the subject matter.  It helped a lot.

I spent most of my day getting ready for our show at FM Bank in Clarksville, Thursday evening.  I had to decide which paintings to take, which paintings would look best with the other paintings.  This was tough because most of my work is still on display in Nashville, I don't have much to pick from.

I painted today at the studio and then I came home and drew this pen & ink.  It might need some touch ups tomorrow but for now, it's bedtime.  Good night.

PicturePen and Ink 5" x 7"
I traveled to Clarksville today to paint with friends at the Train Station,  Once I got there I drew off my next painting onto my canvas.  I opened my backpack and NO Paint!!!

The day was not wasted, I enjoyed talking with friends about art.  We talked about our show that is coming up the first part of June at the FM Bank.

One of our members recently returned from a plein air trip. She shared her watercolor works with us and told us about the trip. I sure would have loved to have been there painting too.

I finished this pen and ink last night here at home.  I do love trees and pen and ink..

I'm remembering my cousin today.  He served in Vietnam and didn't come home.  It's been 45 years and he is still missed.  I am proud today of my husband and father for serving our country during war time.  My father served in WWII and my husband served during Vietnam. I'm sad today for all who lost loved ones while serving OUR country.

I finished the watercolor piece for Ann Hagler's book, The Settling Place.  Her book will be out in the Fall and I can't wait to see it. I've read the manuscript and I loved the book.  I'll tell you how to get it when it comes out.

I always wanted to be an illustrator.  I wanted to do book covers, etc.  One more goal met.

Below are photos of the process!

Picturenot finished yet
I worked on this watercolor again today. One more day and I should be finished with it.  I have a meeting all day tomorrow so it will be Friday before I can work on this again.  I still need to put the finishing touches on it.  The shadows need to be added and I need to finish the chair.

I'm looking forward to painting an acrylic next.

Picturejust getting started
I started my day painting with friends in Clarksville at the Train Station.  Our group has changed their name to 2 River Painters but we are still the same group.  I dropped off the book cover to be scanned and came back to paint some more on the watercolor I drew out yesterday.  I got to the point where I had to add some masking. After I finished masking I came home to work in the flower bed.  It was a very enjoyable day, I got to paint, be with friends and enjoy the beautiful weather. Another GREAT DAY!

Picture6" x 9" pen and ink
I did this pen and ink today.  It's not a very good photo but I wanted to let everyone know, that I did get something done today. Actually, I got a lot done.  I worked on another commissioned piece.  I did several sketches for the client, they came by and I worked on another sketch or two. I got it approved by email.  I got it onto the watercolor paper and I'm ready to start on it tomorrow. I came home and did the pen & ink tonight.  It was a very good day today. I totally enjoyed drawing today.
