B will be reenacting the return to Clarksville after the surrender of Lee's Army. The men will march from the Emerald Hill Mansion to Col. Forbes home. There will be activities at Fort Defiance on Friday May 15 and a tour of period homes (Emerald Hill, Smith Trahern and the Robb House ) on Saturday. There will be activities at the Forbes House front yard. And, our exhibit will be at the Trahern and the artists will be in period dress. Today I packed artwork into the truck, then to the Trahern Mansion, then to the Robb House (I've been in some beautiful places today)! Busy day! Be sure to join us May 16th. I finished up the pen and ink this morning, cut two the mats and framed it this afternoon. I packed up all the artworks for the show for the Smith Trahern Manison in Clarksville and put a few finishing touches on an acrylic to take. I loaded the truck with my work and another artist's works, so I'm ready for tomorrow!! I will be one of six artist with the 2River Painters and the show will be up about a month.
After church today, I went to the studio to add a watercolor wash to what I had done Thursday. Tomorrow I hope to finish this drawing.
This week-end was so busy starting with Friday. Friday, I met with the 2 Rivers Painters to work out our final plans for the "Welcome Home Exhibit" at the Smith Trahern Mansion in May. Our Show will coincide with the "Tennessee Homecoming"event when the Company B, 14th Tennessee Infantry Regimen reenactment group will arrive at Fort Defiance in Clarksville for a 3 day event. Saturday was just as busy: In late afternoon we attended a wonderful meal provided for the Vietnam Vets. here in Houston County. We left and went straight to the DAC Auction in Clarksville. Wonderful Week-end! I wasn't able to attend the whole auction tonight but I got there at the end. My piece had already sold and I hope to find out who bought it so I can tell them "Thank You". The event was very nice and the art looked great. I hope my painting puts a smile on their faces and stirs up wonder memories from the past.
Two years ago today I was painting in Chattanooga in a Paint Out. I had a wonderful time too. Paintings are above! Last year I was working on Ann Hagler's Book Cover, teaching pen and ink classes and attending Houston County Leadership Training this week. Photos below: Today I went to the studio and cleaned all morning. Tomorrow is another day.
The subject matter of my pen and ink is the Rob House in Clarksville. It dates back to the Civil War. It's a beautiful old house located near APSU. I was fascinated by the tree in the front yard. I just wonder how old that tree is. I will say that the tree was difficult to draw and it not totally correct in my drawing. I got a little confused with all those branches. I hope to finish tomorrow.

There were five and now there are four venues sharing my work. In Clarksville the Downtown Artist Co-op Members Show and my pen and inks are at Planters Bank - Hildale branch.. Gallatin has five of "Small Treasures" at the visitors center. Trenton Tennessee has two of my Erin artworks at City Hall. They will all be up until the end of April. In May the 2 Rivers Painters will be at the Trahern Mansion.
