I have started back on the commission piece I'm working on before my eye trouble.(see below if interested) I should be finished soon. While I was waiting for it to dry at times I worked on adding a color wash to a Pen & Ink I had already done. I like the pen & inks without the color wash but some of my artist friends tell me I should add color. Since this one hadn't sold as a B & W, I added color. Let me know what you think! I haven't been a happy camper. Weeks ago I thought I had an eyelash or something in my eye. It looked like a stick across my eye. I washed the eye over and over again. The stick went to two smaller sticks and a bunch of other stuff. So I went to the eye doctor. We watched it for two weeks. In that time I also had flashing lights at times. He then told me the name of the problem: PVD, caused by AGEING! My vision is not damaged but I sure have trouble seeing through all this mess. He says my brain will adjust to it in a few months. It makes drawing almost impossible but painting is doable if I take breaks to rest the good.eye. And reading is also difficult. Posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) is a very common eye condition. It's caused by natural changes to the vitreous gel which takes up the space inside the eye. Although PVD causes some frustrating symptoms it doesn't cause pain, harm the eye or cause permanent loss of vision.

I've been having problems with my eye now for a week. I have a Floater that has decided to just sit on the back on my eye and it's not going away. I've had floaters for ten years at least and they come and go. The optometrist says I will get so I won't pay any attention to the mess that is in my vision. Right now, I am miserable. I can't draw but I can paint. Painting is aggravating at times and it causes my good eye to hurt and I end up with a headache. So I try to paint for short periods of time It has been a week now and I go back to the optometrist next Friday. He is keeping a watch on it because it can cause the retina to detach but he doesn't think that will happen in my cause. So, I should be thankful that I just have to see this mess (little sticks and blurry stuff) right in front of my eye. Yes, it's age related and Yes, I'm bitter. I'm not good company right now. But I know it will get better!
