I did these paintings five years ago. Both are scenes here in Erin, TN where I live. Both paintings hang in the Drug Store near the stairs to the hardware store. I do love living here, Erin is a wonderful place with wonderful people.
Busy week here, Monday the Art Council Meeting .
Tuesday the Art Guild Meeting
Wednesday was rearranging the chamber art window and thank you Keara for doing that for me. And, I got some watercolor paper by way of the UPS.Today, I had to do some shopping just for house hold stuff. Tomorrow, I will help a friend load up her artwork for her window display at the DAC. AND, Saturday, I will be working at the DAC 9-1 and helping put up a window display with my friend. Busy Art Week.
This week I've visited friends. I enjoyed seeing high school friends, my cousin, my sisters and local friends. I did spend a lot of time outside the studio this week but I returned home to the studio to paint some minis. It was a wonderful week. The square minis are magnets.about 1.5 inches square. the dulcimer is 2" x 4" and I love my new little mini plant. Stop by the studio to see my Minis!
Working for the first time in over a month in the STUDIO! With the plumbing problem came the water damage to some of my artwork and supplies. I had to clean out areas and rethink how I stored things in the studio. Then came the Irish Week Celebration in here in Erin. It's been crazy. Today I just enjoyed sitting and painting small. The "Lime Kiln" is 8" square and the two minis are tiny. I'll be working at the chamber tomorrow morning and then back to the studio in the afternoon. I have a few more minis to do.
Erin's BIG DAY is coming up on Sat., March 17th. My studio will be open and there will be vendors all over the town along with a carnival for kids and adults alike. We have a parade with real floats, the old fashion kind. It's a lot of fun. Stop into my studio, I'm on Hwy 49 between the only two traffic lights in town.
I have been revamping the storage closet in my studio. I had water damage and I needed to get everything off the floor of the closet so I never have to experience anything like this again. Well, for weeks I've been dealing with this and I was a very unhappy camper. Yesterday, I didn't even want to go into the studio, once I did, nothing went right. I kept knocking things over, etc. I came home and had to watch two episodes of Golden Girls. I just needed to laugh before I went to bed. This morning I went in and it just all came together. I still have some finishing touches and my studio will be better than ever. I'm looking forward to doing some art again.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
