![]() I got an awful stomach virus Sat.that lasted through Sunday. It was really, really bad. Today (Monday) I'm all better! Tomorrow I hang my work at the Distillery in Nashville. I am sooooo thankful I didn't wait to the last minute to get ready. I'm ready to go. Most all the work is packed up beside the door, ready to load into the truck. The studio is look a little bare but I will fix that when I get back from Nashville. I"m excited.

![]() Yes, just three more painting to mat, frame and pack and I'm done. I worked on my labels tonight. I'm looking forward to hanging my work at the Distillery in Nashville this next week. I haven't shown that many paintings together in one place in almost 30 years and then it was the Springfield Library. I'm so thankful someone liked my work enough to allow me this opportunity. I framed the Grand Old Tree today and it looked so good framed. Sometimes, once they are framed and hanging, I look at my art and I can't believe I really painted it. Crazy but I've heard other artists say the same thing about their art. This is David's work not mine. I'm still matting paintings in the studio. I taught this morning and then had lunch with my three Davids(Sr, Jr, III). When I got back to the studio, I started to cut the matts. Then I dropped the measuring slide of the matt cutter behind the flat file I was matting on. Do you have any idea just how heavy a two stack metal flat file is? I could not budge the thing. I got on top of it with a stick and bringing it to the top of the file when another tiny piece dropped again behind the file. I got a hammer and pried the flat files from the wall just far enough to get a broom in there to get it out. I then continued to Matt my paintings. I wasted so much time. ![]() I've been framing, matting and figuring for April 1. I will be hanging 12 to 15 of my Tennessee Landscape at the Distillery, an office space in Nashville. So I have been busy framing, exchanging frames, cleaning frames, replacing frames. I will be cutting 3 large, double mats tomorrow. I will have to walk across the street to get my glass cut for the frames I just purchased this week. I have to do the math too. I have to have my measurements for hanging the artwork to their liking. Then their are the labels to get done. Yes, I've been very busy and well be for the next day or two. ![]() An artist friend and his wife stopped by the studio today. Clark and Ann, friends from our high school days, stopped by to visit with us at the studio today. He brought with him some beautiful pieces he has been working on. Here is his Facebook page to see some of his work https://www.facebook.com/cdenoble We had a really good time this afternoon visiting. He uses a wood burner on leather to create his images, The textures and values he gets are amazing. Here are two of his works: I hope he doesn't mind that I copied these images from his facebook page. ![]() Our Leadership meeting was today and it was all day long. I came home and rested. I went to turn in my paperwork for Physical Therapy in Erin and they can't take any new patients until April 3. An other disadvantage to living in such a small town. So, I guess I'll call Clarksville tomorrow about going there. I still love living here. The last two weeks have been so very busy that I haven't been able to draw or paint all week. I need some art time, time for ME. ![]() An Artist Friend and I photographed some of our artwork today and then went to photoshop to try to get the colors right on some of them. The yellows just didn't want to come out like they should have. Her work is very colorful non-objective work and the yellows were so important in one of her works. I photographed about 6 small works of mine. I got to ride with the Sheriff's Department today. I rode with the first female deputy in Houston County. She is one smart young lady and I enjoyed the ride. We got to turn on the "lights" when we came up on a motorist that was off the road. I did this because of Leadership Houston County, I wasn't in trouble. ![]() I really enjoy working on the Gallery Wrap Canvases. The photo on the left shows the canvases and their widths. I paint the sides either with a solid color like the jeep and the Cats or I continue the image on the sides which are 1.5 inch. I like the 1.5 but you can get them thicker. I just wonder how other artists and art collectors feel about them? The mountain scene is regular canvas but it is wrapped around the back edge. I did get to the doctors and I'm off the walker and headed to Physical Therapy. I drove today for the first time in over 3 months. ![]() After a very busy St Paddy's Week in Erin, today was very quiet. I went to the studio to clean up and put away all the St. Paddy's stuff. The Studio is back to normal. One of my Artist friends stopped by and chatted and I enjoyed her visit so much. I have an opportunity coming up to display my work in Nashville. So I was picking out which works I want to include in the show. I think I've got it all worked out. I have to print out my labels and make sure every painting is framed correctly. They have requested my Tennessee Plein Air Paintings. I am excited! ![]() Here's our float in the Parade, it looks good but it didn't win. The floats were the best this year. Signature Health Care's was BIG and Beautiful and they won 1st. I thought the Parade was wonderful this year. It was a FUN day and Erin was GREEN. Beautiful weather and beautiful people made the day. I love Erin. |
