![]() Tennessee Springscape I had to go to the studio first thing this morning early to re-frame a painting (to the left) to take to the Tennessee Art League April Show. The glass got broken during the Christmas Open House. I replaced it with clear acrylic instead of glass. A large painting like this (32" x 26") it's just too easy for the glass to break. I then went with a church friend to take a photo of a donation given to the local mission that helps with food needs for the community. A nice lunch with the same friend and then off to Nashville to deliver two painting to the TAL for the April Show. The Art Walk in Nashville is the the first Sat. of the Month. The League is at their new location at 219 5th Ave. N. I had supper out with my sister and then home. Busy day!

![]() I want to quit! This face is going to be the death of me. I think I need to start over. The right side is looking better but the left side is all off. It would help if I had my new glasses but they won't be in for a while yet. The nose is off and I really like the nose but now I see it is off. The paper I'm using has taken about all it can take and so have I. But I can't quit. I'll try again tomorrow and if I can't get it, I'll start over on Monday. Oh goody, goody. ![]() I had truck problems on Monday, it just stopped just before I got to the doctor's office. I pushed it to a safe place and walked to the doctor's office. So Monday was sent getting the truck taken care of. So yesterday, I had to go pick up the truck. Oh, did I mention the truck broke down 30 miles away from home? Yesterday was pretty much a wasted day but thanks to my brother-in-law for helping me out. Oh, did I mention the hubby was in Florida? He missed all the fun. I hope to finish the drawing I've been working on today. I want to start something new, perhaps painting my granddaughter. I also want to do a Pen and Ink of a photo a friend gave up to work from. I want to do so many things. ![]() 14" x 19" charcoal, graphite & pastels Today's effort on the commission piece. It's almost there, I put the photo I'm working from and this photo side by side in photoshop and I could see my mistakes a lot easier. I'll try to get them corrected tomorrow. I was calling my subject "pretty princess" but now I'm not so crazy about her. I can not get her right. But I will!!! Below are the different stages and corrections I've made so far. I really hope to get it right tomorrow, I'm ready to say "Good-Bye" to Pretty Princess. ![]() A nice clean studio I didn't do anything today in the studio. I got to the studio at 10:30 and my sister and her daughter in law were there. It was lunch time, so we did lunch. Then my hubby comes up with the idea to go to Clarksville to check out some stuff, of course I wanted to go too. Then, it was supper time so we ate out. I'm home now and I had a fun day with family. Here are a few pics of the studio all cleaned up for the St. Paddy's Day Celebration. It doesn't look like this now, I've been working. ![]() Erin landscape 6" x 6" acrylic I started this one (to the left) yesterday and finished it today. Not my favorite but I painted the sky weeks ago. I wanted to get something on the canvas and get it on the wall. I started a commission piece today too, working from a photo. The photo is below. You have seen a piece I did before from this photo but that was practice for the real thing. I did that one in charcoal and it was too dark and the wrong background color. This one is done with graphite on cream paper. I had the eyes in and they weren't right so I erased them out. I still have a lot of work to do on it and I hope I can get the eyes right before the paper wears out. ![]() I put the finishing touches on the last small canvas I posted. I also started another one but I forgot to take a photo of it. I'll post it tomorrow. Below are photos of this painting in progress. It is only 6" x 6" so they don't take long to do. I had a meeting to attend this morning but I got to the studio, late but I got there. I hope to get there earlier tomorrow. ![]() I'm about to get it for flirting with her leprechaun! Everyone had a wonderful time this year in Erin at the St. Paddy's day festivities (SAT). About 20, ooo people visited and I had a lot of visitors. I met a lot a people that visited my studio. I handed out a whole pile of business cards, sold a few small pieces and note cards. I hope to get a few commissions and return visitors. I saw one of my friends from college that I haven't seem in 20 + years. Yes, we had a great time. I'll be back in the studio working this week. ![]() David and my new sign David hung my new sign this morning, they both look pretty good to me. I got the studio cleaned and everything priced for tomorrow. I matted two drawings and rearranged things in the studio. It looks nice. I also took a walk on the Greenway and took some more photos. I decorated my door for St. Paddy's with shamrocks, a rainbow and a pot of gold. I'm hoping for a few sells tomorrow. We shall see how it goes. |
