I'm going to have to move that darn cat! The composition on this piece would be so much better if I move the cat over one to two inches. I can't believe I have to repaint that cat.
The painting is seven cats, and two of the faces are fighting. I know what I should do but I don't know to paint out the cat and move it. This is going to mess up my whole week-end worring about it. Every thing else is working but not that one cat.
Keeping a painting with soft edges and low keyed is harder than I thought it would be. I hope to finish the painting tomorrow!
Once I took a Latin American Art History course and I loved it. I
fell in love with the colors (or lack of) of Venezuelan artist Armando Reveron.
I'm trying a similar palette on the painting I'm working on at the studio. I
should be finished tomorrow so I'll have some photos tomorrow or Sat. The painting is the same drawing sketch as the pen and ink I did with “Eight is
Enough”. In the pen and ink I had to study the values, now that I understand the value I'm doing it in acrylic paint to add color.
I think I have the GPPAC's Facebook page up and going. And, today I was back at the Tannery Row Artist Colony painting. Yes, painting not drawing, and I did enjoy it. I forgot my workshirt so I did get paint all over me. I'm not neat when I paint.
I've been working to get a Facebook page up and going on Facebook. I have photos and the prospectus and dates BUT I can't get my email list to do right. Oh well, I'll work on it tomorrow. I'm going to the Tannery to paint tomorrow, not draw but paint.
It was a Great DAY to start the Gwinnett Parks Plein Air Challenge. It was raining in different areas of the county and it got a little wet this morning before 9:00am. But by nine, the sun was out and the river was beautiful. Our make up date will be April 7th for the artists who couldn't make it today. And for any of the artists who want to paint again, see you at Jones Bridge Park in two weeks.
I think I'm finished with this one of the boats at Astor Landing. I haven't decided if I'm going to do anything with the sky. And I still might add a color wash. I'll study it for a few days because once I add a wash, that's it. I can't go back to just the black and white. In case you don't know, I really like just the pen and ink! And Thanks to Judy I for the critique.
I started inking in the boat dock I'm doing. I might have made a big mistake, getting too dark too soon. I know, I can mess up everytime by doing just that. I'm hoping I can save it. I worked at the Tannery today 12 til 5 and I'm back at it tomorrow. I actually hope to finish the drawing. If it turns out, I have plans for it. Hopefully
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
