We had to run to Clarksville today to get some artwork delivered to the DAC. Now that I'm a member I can display a few pieces of art every month. They are also part of the Clarksville ART WALK every first Thursday of the month. So, next Thursday I'll be at the DAC starting at 5:00pm and it goes until 8. There will be food and fun!

It's still cold and icy here, so I stayed home again today. My schedule was about the same as yesterday. I continued to work on my Resume' and finally finished it. And again tonight, I sat down and enjoyed doing another pen & ink. These are small in size 6" x 9" and I don't draw them out, it's all pen the entire time. If I were doing a larger piece, I would have to draw in at least the shapes first to make sure my composition is correct. I do love doing them and they are value studies for larger paintings and larger pen & inks, as well as an artwork in themselves. Life is Good, I had a wonderful day.
It's still cold and icy out here in Erin, TN. I stayed in and got some work done on the computer updating Resume' and Bio. Tonight I got my Holbein Multi - Drawing Book out and completed another Pen and Ink.I really like this small drawing pad. It has 28 sheets of high-quality, all-purpose 80 lb, neutral pH paper that accepts watercolor, graphite, chalk, pencil, charcoal, or pastels and of course, pen and ink. It has a hardcover that ties to protective it's contents. I have the 6" x 9" which is a small. The paper is wonderful. It's been a full day of art, just a lot of art business I had to attend to today. Life is Good.
I drew another pen and ink today while waiting for more snow. It snowed all day but it was more like an icy rain without any real accumulation. On top of the cold weather, I wake up with the sniffles and back pain.. So I did some laundry and drew a little bite.. Tomorrow we will have warmer weather and rain. Tomorrow is also my origination at the DAC (Downtown Artist Co-op in Clarksville. I am looking forward to the DAC and the weather. This pen and ink was done with a sharpie pen and it's another 6" x 9". This was drawn from start to finish in ink, no underdrawing in pencil. I do enjoy these little drawings. Life is good but I hope to feel better tomorrow.
It was just too cold to go to the studio today, so I drew with pen and ink last night and this morning.. Yesterday when I stopped by the studio I picked up a sketch book and some sharpies. I took this photo of the Primitive Baptist Church last Nov. while in Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. It was cold that morning too but not in the single digits outside. I think I'm going to do this one as a painting in watercolor when I get the time to paint again. I really enjoyed drawing this one. I didn't use pencil to start it, I used the sharpie fine all the way. It is small so I could do it with no problem, it's a 6" x 9 . I'll probably start another one tonight before bed.
Sunday night after the Valentine's Show, we headed home to beat the approaching bad weather. It was already bitter cold so we didn't get to unpack the truck of all my artwork and display panels. So here it is Wednesday and yes the bad weather came and went and came again. Today the Sun came out with the 22 degrees temperature and we ventured out to the studio to unload.
One bad part of having a studio is all your supplies are at the studio. I really don't keep any art supplies here at the house. Tomorrow should be about the same but I know I can get out now, so I'll be at the studio tomorrow unless more snow falls tonight. Snow is in the forecast for Friday but it's suppose to warm up Saturday. The 6TH ANNUAL VALENTINE’S AFTERNOON WITH THE ARTS was an incredible experience for me. I met so many wonderfully friendly people and some of our friends were there too. I live in Erin now but Clarksville is my home town and I'm very proud of Clarksville. This events hosted 10 artists to showcase their works. The F&M Franklin Room is above the city and the view is fabulous and on top of that the red and black tables set the mood for this beautiful event. A few of my paintings went home with some of these friendly folks too. Life is Good!
The painting shown here is one of the many I'll have for sale tomorrow at the ANNUAL VALENTINE’S AFTERNOON WITH THE ARTS. David and I set up today and I think my area looks pretty good. The display panels I painted last week turned out very nice.
David and I did get all five rooster captured and the people same and got them. I hope they are warm tonight. We raised these guys from chicks but we had five roosters out of six eggs, one little hen. We can set-up tomorrow for the -VALENTINE’S AFTERNOON WITH THE ARTs for Sunday, so I had to get a lot into one day's work.
My day started with a Doctor's appointment- a shot in the knee. Then a wonderful lunch with my hubby.. Then drive back from Clarksvile to the studio. At the Studio, I finished pricing and packing the artworks. My wonderful husband came back and loaded the pick up with all my stuff. I came home and iced the knee. Tomorrow morning the fun begins. Someone is coming to pick up 5 Silkie Roosters. So we get to "get up with the Chickens" to catch them. It's going to be freezing tomorrow morning. Then I head to Clarksville to get set up for the Valentine's Event on Sunday at the F&M Franklin Room. Life is Good. I went in this morning to pack up the display panels. Since I painted them black, I'm afraid they will scratch easily. Today I finished making covers for the panels and packing them back into their box. Getting them back in the box was the hardest task of all. I'll be taking 14 works. A few pen and inks, watercolor and acrylics. I'm looking forward to being at the F& M Bank's Franklin Room, for the 6TH ANNUAL VALENTINE’S AFTERNOON WITH THE ARTS
