Gray skies, so there are no shadows and highlights to be found for my painting. And that my friends was the good part of the day for Plein Air Painting for me. I got lost getting to where I wanted to paint because of construction and detours. I set up my easel and it was broken. I fixed it the best I could, a bolt was missing. Then I find out my watercolor block is too small for my easel. I couldn’t secure it onto the easel, and then the wind kicks-up. The watercolor block just keeps flying in my face and beating me up. Every time I went for my paint it would fly off the easel and onto the ground. So I sat down in my chair to paint with the block on my lap. It starts to rain, and remember, I’m working in watercolor. I packed up and then it stops. I start again and the rain starts again. After 3 hours, I went home. I did get enough done for a good start tomorrow. I sure hope things go better for me tomorrow!
