I got up early and headed to Hopkinsville Community College to take down my exhibit.. I had some good help, my wonderful husband. Thirty-nine artworks packed up and delivery back to the studio in time for the Irish Celebration March 17th in Erin. It went very well until the last crate. My portable dolly folded as I came through the threshold of the studio. What a mess!
Even if I didn't get to work in the studio last week, I did manage to get this small pen and ink done. This scene is located in Carlisle TN in Stewart County Hwy 49 beside Carlisle Market.
I love my studio and I'm so lucky to have it to go to and work on my art. It great to have a place to share what I do with others who stop in to visit.
Last Tuesday after my drawing class, I noticed trouble in paradise. My toilet wasn't flushing right and water would back up in my sink when I flushed the toilet. I called my landlord and he got someone over immediately. The problem wasn't just in my bathroom but everyone in the building was starting to have troubles.. . . .Long story short, almost a week later it was fixed. I had a little mess to clean up but it could have been a lot worst than it was. Since everything had to come out of the back closet, I'm taking this opportunity to get some light in there. I did manage to get some drawing done during all this. I'll share the drawing tomorrow. I still love my studio and I appreciate my landlord taking care of everything as quickly.
The Drawing Workshops in Clarksville and Erin ended last Thursday. We had a one postponements due to snow, but we are done for now. I'm always amazed at how well the students do. It was a lot of fun and I hope the participants enjoyed being there and learning as much as I did teaching it. I do love to draw.
Some of the participants are wanting a composition class next. It would be a one day class. If you are interested, let me know. It will be in May or June.
My wonderful, sweet little sister went with me yesterday to hang 39 pieces of my artwork in Hopkinsville, Ky at the Hopkinsville Community College (HCC). She's not an artist that draws and paints but she is a great designer. Her decorating skills are outstanding, so I knew she would have an eye for hanging the show. She did a fantastic job. She did most all of it while I worked on title blocks and business, etc. The show looks fabulous, thanks to her and all her help. She has always been my "Little Buddy" and always there to help to paint my house, pack and unpack when I moved from one state to another. I have a very close and special family of two sister and my brother, they come to every show and reception I have. They are my biggest fans and I love them dearly.
It was a great day and I enjoyed being with my sister!
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
