Not today, we had a meeting at the Tannery . I had to get to the post office to mail an application for an Artist in Residence at a State Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Yes, the North GA. High School Art was a huge success. The students were there, their parents, their friends and their Teachers. Wonderful night.
our prizes didn't come in! So SAD! They're on a Truck somewhere between Cheap Joe's and Buford. But a Big Thank you to Cheap Joe's for donating them. The student were only expecting ribbons so at least they won't be disappointed. We will get them to the winners when they arrive. The show 's opening reception in tomorrow night 6-9.
We had to hang the "North GA High School Art Exhibit" and it goods great.
I have to type up the name tags and student bios. Hope to get every thing done tomorrow for the show Sat.
I'm disappointed that I didn't paint today. We are having a High School Exhibit at the Tannery Row . The art teachers were to deliver the work yesterday and today. One teacher delivered artwork yesterday, so we were a little overworked today. I won't get to paint tomorrow either because we have to hang the show. Maybe Friday!! Sat is the opening reception - 6 - 9
Don't worry, it's not finished, just blocked in. The background won't be this color and the cats, well they will have some blue in them. I block in a little differently from some artist. I put down color, bright color under what might be a dull color. I hope the warmth comes through. The cats are white and Gray. I felts I got a lot done today. I got my image on the canvas and got it blocked in. Tomorrow I PAINT!
I cleaned, and I worked on my "Crazy Eights" and enjoyed the day!
The "Virginia Avery "Reflections Show" was a very special event
to me and I still can't believe I made it into that show. The work was so
incredible everyone needs to see this body show. So if you are in the Mableton area you need to stop by.
The show is up until March 1. Gallery Hours: Mon.
– Thursday; 10:00 am – 5:00pm. At
the Mable House Arts Center.
I was so proud that I got in this show. The work of these women was outstanding. I can't believe I was in such company. The Mable House has a wonderful gallery. I enjoyed myself so much. Thanks to my husband and my friend Linda for being there with me tonight.
I'm going to a workshop on Portrait Painting and then to the opening Reception to the “The Third Virginia Avery Memorial “Reflections”
Juried Art Exhibition” which I got in!!!! I'm so excited.
This is an adventure for me, something I've always wanted to do: to be a real Artist! So I rented a studio, lets see how it goes.
